Well last night we had the Ocean Grove Snooker Club championships at Neil and Pauline Fullers house. Our thanks to both of them as it was a great venue for a very good night with about 40 members in attendance.

The night started off with the single semis between be Chris Alfredson v Mark O’Keefe, this was a very tight semi with the lead changing many times with Chris taking it out with 2 balls to go.

2nd semi was Rob Holt v Geoff Foster  again this was a very interesting final where the lead swapped many times with it being decided on the Black ball in the final game with Rob taking the final.

Next was the doubles Grand Final Steve Dolphin & John Pickett v Bernie Jordan & Derek Ladlow, this is played over 3 frames with the first frame being taken out by Steve and John, the second was down to the black ball with Bernie and Derek snagging that one leading to a deciding frame. Derek brought out his best game in the final frame leading to Bernie and Derek becoming the Doubles Champions for 2013. Well done to all involved.

The Singles Grand Final was between Chris and Rob, started very tight with both players showing a bit of nerves from which Rob recovered first and took out the first frame quite easily in the end after a good break.

The second game was much the same with Chris unable to take advantage of his opportunities and Rob was able to wrap the game up with some decisive long shots.

Well done to all involved in the singles and congratulations to Rob Holt our 2013 singles champion.
